Louise Scott qualified as a solicitor in 1993 at a highly regarded Nottingham law firm.
She immediately specialised in family law and has as a consequence over 20 years’ experience in this area of law. Louise graduated from Leicester University in 1989 and has lived in Leicester ever since. She completed her Law Society Finals at Nottingham Law School in 1991.
Louise has been an Accredited Specialist with Resolution since 2004 gaining recognition as a specialist in Finances on Divorce and private Children matters. Louise was amongst the first lawyers in the Leicester area to receive this Accreditation which she has retained ever since.
Louise joined Glynis Wright & Co in February 2018 after working for a number of large regional law firms both in Leicester and Nottingham. Louise is delighted to be working for a niche family law firm.
Whilst Louise does her utmost to resolve matters swiftly and amicably she has considerable experience of dealing with court applications and hearings before both magistrates and District Judges. Louise likes to do her own advocacy where possible thus providing continuity for clients.
Louise has dealt with a wide range of family matters including a Forced Marriage application and a number of court applications in respect of property disputes between cohabiting couples.
She can also provide advice on pre and postnuptial Agreements which are becoming increasingly popular as a way of protecting assets and minimising possible future disputes.
As a result of her time dealing with family disputes Louise is able to provide clear guidance on how a court is likely to deal with a particular matter and therefore can help clients reach amicable settlements without the need for a formal court application.
Louise has experiencing of appearing before a number of local courts including Leicester, Nottingham, Coventry, Birmingham, Northampton, Loughborough and Bedford.
